Step 1
download the live CD

Download the self-burning executable (for Windows) or ISO image (Mac OSX or Linux) to your personal PC.

Step 2
burn the live CD

If you are a Windows user, simply double click the self-burning executable and let the program guide you. If you are a Mac OSX or Ubuntu Linux user, use the CD burning software of your choice or look here.

Step 3
insert the CD in a separate server

Insert the CD in your ESCAUX server and switch on the power or restart. This ESCAUX server can be an old PC as long as it has 512MB RAM, a fixed ethernet connection and a CDROM drive. It needs to be connected on the same LAN as your own PC. You don't even need a screen or keyboard, it will be controlled completely from your PC. It also doesn't matter if anything is installed on it or not. The live CD will not install or overwrite anything.

Step 4
start the ESCAUX server

After a few minutes you should hear a few high pitch beeps followed by lower pitch beeps. The latter continues to indicate that it is waiting to be controlled from the ESCAUX net.Desktop application which you will install on your own PC during the next step. (Make sure your server boots from CD, if not change your boot sequence in the BIOS)

Step 5
Bootstrap your system

Continue to follow the instructions to bootstrap the ESCAUX Unified Communication application. At this point the net.Desktop will remote control the ESCAUX server in order to finalise the configuration. At the end of the bootstrap process you will be able to send and receive calls, invite colleagues, chat and perform video calls. If anything goes wrong you can get help via the online forum. You can access the online forum using the login and password you created during the registration.
